Bandipora, Mar 6 (KNS): The inhabitants of Wangipora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district Sunday staged protest against police for “failing to trace a missing youth” who got disappeared on Friday here.
The residents of the area assembled near the Sumbal Bridge and blocked the Bandipora-Srinagar highway thereby resulting in the heavy traffic jams.
The angry protesters raised slogans and were demanding to trace the missing youth soon.
Police however said that the investigation is going on while they have also called two suspects with whom the missing youth has last made contacts.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The two suspects are being questioned,” police official told KNS.
Riyaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahad Beigh, a resident of Wangipora Sumbal was reported missing on Friday.
“Riyaz had left home for Srinagar on Friday but till now there is no trace of him while his phone is also switched off,” family of Riyaz said.
After the police assured protesters that the missing youth will be traced soon, the angry residents dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
