Srinagar December 31 (KNS): A virtual meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Shri Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) J&K, to review progress and expedite the implementation of National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification across health facilities of the Jammu Division.
During the interaction with district teams, the Mission Director emphasized that the maximum number of public health facilities should be brought under the National Quality Assurance Certification framework to ensure that citizens of Jammu & Kashmir receive assured, standardized and patient-centric quality health services. He underlined that NQAS provides a structured framework for improving service delivery, patient rights, clinical care, infection control and overall quality management in public health facilities.
It was informed during the meeting that District Hospitals, Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Sub-Centres/Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are being prioritized and processed for NQAS implementation in a phased manner.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThese facilities are being supported through gap assessments, corrective actions and preparedness for external assessments to enable them to achieve national-level quality certification at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Dr Hamid Zargar, Director Health Services Jammu; Dr Harjeet Rai, State Nodal Officer, NHM; Chief Medical Officers of all districts of the Jammu Division; Block Medical Officers; and officials from the District Programme Management Units (DPMU) and Block Programme Management Units (BPMU). The participants shared the status of facility-wise NQAS preparedness and committed to time-bound completion of the required quality improvement activities.(KNS)
