Police summon to Sajjad Kargili attempt to muzzle free-voices

Srinagar, Nov 01 (KNS): CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Monday said the recent violence against minority community  in Tripura are unfortunate incidents which has once again created an atmosphere of hatred in the region.

In a statement to KNS, he said that some communal elements are fanning passions against the minority community in Tripura under the garb of communal violence in Bangladesh. "The Tripura BJP government is not doing anything against those, who are disturbing communal harmony there," he said.

"The summoning of a known human rights activist from Kargil Sajjad Hussain Kargili by the police for a tweet on violence against minority in Tripura is a glaring example of how the UT administration of Ladakh wants to silence those who speak against the violence. Ladakh Union Territory administration must understand that by such acts genuine voices can’t be suppressed," Tarigami added. (KNS)
