Victims of Road Traffic Accident Get Justice After 10-Year Legal Battle from Srinagar Court

 Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNS) ; Victims of a road traffic accident have finally received justice from the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal (MACT), Srinagar, after a prolonged legal battle spanning nearly ten years, owing to the persistent efforts and effective legal representation by young Advocate of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court, Advocate Saleem Yousuf.

Sources revealed that on 05 December 2015, a family from Sopore met with a serious road traffic accident on the Srinagar–Baramulla National Highway near the Mirgund area. In the unfortunate incident, several members of the family, including three children, sustained critical injuries, while one family member suffered permanent disability.
 
Following the accident, a claim petition was filed in 2016 before the Hon’ble Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal (MACT), Srinagar, by the victims through their counsel, Advocate Saleem Yousuf on 04-03-2016.
 
 After years of sustained legal proceedings, Advocate Yousuf successfully proved the case on behalf of the victims and established the liability of the insurance company of the offending vehicle.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
After carefully examining the evidence on record, including medical documents and the disability certificate of the injured petitioner, the Presiding Officer of the MACT Court, Srinagar, Shri Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi, passed a well-reasoned judgment.
 
While delivering a detailed 45-page judgment, the Tribunal directed the respondent insurance company, HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, to pay a total compensation of Rs 54,10,500 in favour of the victims, along with applicable interest, within 30 days.
 
Meanwhile, the victims of the accident and local residents have highly appreciated the delivery of justice and the compensation awarded after a long wait of nearly a decade.
 
The victims were represented by Advocate Saleem Yousuf, while the insurance company was represented by Advocate Tariq Malik.(KNS)
