Local vendors in Srinagar’s Baba Demb flexed muscles on people, injuring four persons when the objected over the encroachments on footpaths.

According to KNS correspondent, vendors had occupied the footpaths at Srinagar’s Baba Demb area, affecting the pedestrian movement. When locals objected to this action, a brawl was witnessed after which the vendors attacked office of the Downtown Contractors Association and smashed the glasses of some vehicles bearing number JKO1R 0017 and JK01D 3413.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The vendors allegedly also injured four persons who were later shifted to hospitals. FIR at police station Khaniyar has been lodged into the case.

Reports informed that later Municipal authorities intervened and removed the encroachments.

When contacted, SMC commissioner Tufail Matoo said that the drive against the encroachments will continue and no one in Srinagar shall be allowed to violate the norms.
