Handwara, June 14 (KNS): Officials of the Forest department Divsion Langate have seized a Tata mobile vehicle which was ferrying illicit timber in Tragpora Rafiabad .
According to officials, a nakka was laid by Rafiabad forest Range, the forest team was led by Mohammad Ayoub Block forest Officer.
The officials said, around 5am on Sunday a Tata mobile vide registration number . Jk05B : 8479 was seized and around 25 cft illicit timber was also recovered from the vehicle.
However, two smugglers were also arrested by the officials of forest department and were handed to police.
They has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Tantray of Baramulla and Firdous Ahmad of Tarzoo
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Divisional Forests Officer Langate, Abdul Hameed Malla.
Meanwhile DFO have warned that any one found involved in such acts would be brought to book and punished
A case in this regard has also been register at police station Dangiwacha under FIR No.64/2020 , 379 IPC and section 26 of IFA. (KNS)
