Langate, Jun 14 (KNS): Forest Protection Force and Ranger Officer Mawer team foiled a timber smuggling bid in Langate and arrested two persons, an official said.

Ranger officer Mawer Gh Nabi Hajam said that a team during a naka which was laid at near forest division Langate seized one Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK09-5380 loaded with illicit timber.

The official said that the naka party seized the timber and vehicle while they also arrested two persons from the spot.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Meanwhile, all the arrested accused were taken to forest protection office and further investigation has been taken up in this regard.

However when contacted to chief conservator forests north circle Irfan Rasool he said those who will be involved in the smuggling will be dealt strictly as per law. (KNS)
