Says ‘Technical guidance of horticulture, experts from SKUAST-K, Horticulture department should follow’
Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNS): PDP MLA from Bijbehara and former Minister Ab Rehman Veeri has sought immediate assessment of the losses caused by snow to apple orchardists in Kashmir and adequate compensation to them for the same.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Veeri said heavy snowing has caused huge loses to apple orchards and government should take immediate measures for assessing the loses and adequate compensation for such loses to orchardists in Kashmir valley particularly northern and Southern District of the valley which are the hubs of apple production in the state'.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Saying that the horticulture industry particularly the Kashmir apple is the backbone of the state economy Veeri demanded that technical advice of the horticulture experts of S K University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) should also be made available with the direction to advice the snow hit orchardists about the measures required to revive the half damaged fully grown apple plants.
