VC KVIB visits Bandipora; participates in Awareness programme at Aragam

BANDIPORA, JANUARY 17 (KNS): Vice Chairperson (VC) J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Dr Hina Shafi Bhat on Tuesday visited Bandipora and participated in a daylong awareness programme at Aragam.

The awareness programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Waseem Raja and other concerned from District Administration and KVIB besides PRIs and general public.

The VC also visited Noor centre and interacted with trainees there. She appreciated the work of trainers and trainees for making traditional garments like lachka, shawls etc having cultural importance.

She lauded the efforts of Shahida Khanam, the owner of Noor Centre in reviving the culture. She also congratulated the girls enrolled in Noor Centre for showcasing their talent in reviving cultural garments.

Dr. Hina said LG’s administration has made incredible schemes for development of J&K youth.

She said 37% shares of loans taken from KVIB are taken by girls for business and other purposes and 1126 units  have already been established under KVIB thereby generating employment for  8750 persons in current FY in Bandipora District.

She said for Exhibition, Noor Centre  will be provided an opportunity to install stalls all over India and assured all possible support in establishment of craft centre for providing stipends to trainees, wages to trainers, rent for building and raw material to the noor centre.

Dr. Hina in her speech appreciated the efforts of District Administration and Police for their efforts in curbing drug menace and urged youth to come forward and avail benefits under different Government Schemes.

Later Dr. Hina also visited Flex manufacturing unit Nadihal and Kasperia Organics- Milk Processing, Cheese and Khoya plant at Papchan Bandipora.(KNS)
