VC cluster university visits Abdul Ahad memorial college in Bemina

Srinagar July 08:(KNS)  Vice Chancellor Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. Dr. Qayyum Husain visited Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina as part of a series of official visits to the constituent colleges of the Cluster University Srinagar on 7th July 2021 and held elaborate discussions with the Principal, Heads of Departments and faculty members of the college regarding the functioning and development of the Cluster University Srinagar. Also, present on this official visit were Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University Srinagar Prof. Dr. Abdul Hai and Dean Sciences, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. Dr. Izhar Tantray. 
During the day long visit, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor discussed the future course of action for the progress of the Cluster University Srinagar and took stock of all the faculties and departments of the college. Dr. Qayyum also interacted with all the faculty members and assured them of all possible help in resolving their issues. 
In his presidential address, Prof. Dr. Qayyum spoke at length about the various measures that the university needs to focus on to improve the condition of higher education including introduction of courses that will cater to the employment deficit in the UT. While maintaining  that traditional courses are still significant, Prof. Dr. Qayyum stressed that modern courses from emerging fields will need to be given priority for overall development of students in lieu of the implementation of the NEP 2020. The vice chancellor also reiterated his commitment towards the promotion and preservation of Kashmiri Culture and Tradition by introducing courses on Kashmir studies. For accelerating the growth of higher education and development of society, Prof. Qayyum, also, spoke at length about the contribution of women in particular. Prof. Qayyum said that for realizing the objective of establishing a world renowned reputed institution of higher education, collective and committed efforts from Principals, faculty and other stakeholders of the university is required. During the event, the vice chancellor also distributed certificates amongst the students for completion of internship at IIT Rohtak and visited various departments and faculties in the college. 
Speaking on the occasion, the worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Nasreen Aman thanked the Vice Chancellor for his personal and keen interest in the improvement in the overall scenario of higher education and in the progress of the Cluster University Srinagar in particular. Dr. Nasreen Aman also assured full support from the faculty and staff of AAAMDC Bemina, in strengthening the Cluster University Srinagar.(KNS)
