Srinagar, Dec 20 (KNS) : Authorities on Wednesday imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city while a complete shutdown is being observed in rest of the Valley to protest against the civilian killings.
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for shutdown today against the civilian killings from past week.
The restrictions were imposed in Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj, Maisuma and Safa Kadal areas of the city, officials said, adding that the partial restrictions have also been imposed in Kralkhud.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Heavy contingents of police and paramilitary troopers have been deployed to thwart any possible protest against civilian killings.
Train service between north Kashmir's Baramulla town and Jammu's Bannihal town has been suspended.
Pertinently, there civilians were killed in anti-militancy operations in last few days at different places in the Valley. (KNS)
