Need to develop and promote Rampor and Rajpor as a tourist place: Vakil to LG admin

Sopore August  30 (KNS) : Peoples Conference Senior Vice President and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil Monday took an extensive tour of upper belt of Sopore constituency villages which included Rajpor and Rampor where he interacted with people. Upon listening the woes of people, Vakil said that Government has failed to address problems of people living in far-flung areas of Valley.

Addressing the party workers meeting in these areas Vakil spoke fondly of the bewitching beauty of these areas and said almighty has endowed this area with immense natural beauty, but unfortunately, despite the scenic abundance of this area, it has been left unattended for so long. He insisted if Tourism department will show intrest in this area, then not only all of India but people from all across nations will come visit this place. Vakil also spoke about the hardships faced by people of this area on account of lack of proper facilities like water, electricity, lack of staff in Higher Secondaries and Hospitals. He, therefore, appealed the LG. admin to take notice of the area and bring it out of its miseries by promoting it as a tourist place.

These villages areas of Sopore are being neglected in terms of development activities, Vakil said. “Our people are still living without electricity and water. Apart from that, unemployment has touched the skies in the Union Territory,” he said.

Vakil was accompanied by Sopore Constituency In charge Fayaz Ahmad Naikoo, Sarpanch Khazir Mohammad , Ghulam Qadir, Deputy Sarpanch Ghulam hassan WarWar. (KNS)
