Demands Omar Abdullah’s Resignation on Moral Grounds
Srinagar , Nov 23 (KNS) : Senior Vice President of the J&K People’s Conference and former Cabinet Minister Abdul Gani Vakil strongly condemned the government’s decision to increase electricity tariffs by 20%, instead of fulfilling its promise of 200 units of free electricity.
In a Statement issued, Vakil said it is “deeply disappointing and shocking” that, rather than providing relief, the government is placing additional financial burdens on the people.
Vakil demanded Omar Abdullah’s resignation on moral grounds, asserting that the government has “completely failed on both economic and political fronts.” He added that even after one full year in office, “the government’s performance remains absolutely zero.”
Drawing a comparison with Delhi, Vakil said that Arvind Kejriwal has successfully delivered on his commitments, including free electricity, free drinking water, and major improvements in government schools.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He questioned Omar Abdullah’s inability to deliver on similar promises, stating that whether the region functions as a State or a Union Territory, “Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has proven incompetent and incapable of fulfilling the promises made during the last Assembly elections.”
Vakil was addressing a key workers’ meeting in Yarbug, Rafiabad, where prominent local figure and former J&K Bank Manager Mohammad Akber Sheikh formally joined the J&K People’s Conference. He was warmly welcomed by Senior Vice President Abdul Gani Vakil, Chief Spokesperson and former MLA Kupwara Adv. Bashir Ahmed Dar, and District President People’s Conference Baramulla Asif Lone.(KNS)
