Announce comprehensive package policy for revival of fruit and tourism industry: Vakil to Centre

Rafiabad 20 Aug 2021:(KNS)  Sr. Vice President peoples conference and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today expressed his grave concern over neglect of fruit and tourism industry in Kashmir valley and said lacs of people are solely dependent on these two major industries for their livelihood but uncared attitude of Govt has left many people high and dry. Vakil urged the centre government to come up with a comprehensive package policy for the revival of these two vital industries of the state as it has been assured many times by the government “It becomes an obligation for the government to come to the support and succour of the fruit and tourism industry as they form the backbone of our economy and have always been suffering on account of lockdowns hartals, weather vagaries and fluid political situation in the valley. Vakil reiterated his demand of waiving of KCC loans of fruit growers. Vakil was addressing workers convention in Chatloora Rafiabad while addressing the convention Vakil said it is surprising and unfortunate that the government is not releasing wages to those daily wagers also who are working in different departments especially PDD, PHE, PWD, Agriculture Forest and Fisheries. It is these people who run the departments and serve people,". He said the government is acting as a mute spectator to the sufferings of these people and their families. "It is the responsibility of the administration to help these poor people to restore their life and livelihood especially those who make their both ends meet on daily earnings,".

There are thousands of daily wagers who have been assured regularisation on different occasions but nothing has been done so far Vakil added
