Vaccine shortage exposes Kashmir’s crumbling health infrastructure: Kadfeen

Srinagar,17 May (KNA): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary has termed the vaccine dearth in Kashmir extremely worrying, urging the LG administration to address the shortage on priority keeping in view the disastrous situation engulfing the state at present.

Kadfeen in a statement issued to the Kashmir news service (KNS) has said that the way in which the COVID-19 situation is being handled in Kashmir is questionable as people here have absolutely no idea about the availability of vaccines and when to get the jabs against the deadly virus. He said that such scenes are nowhere pertinent wherein the government is hiding the information related to the availability of vaccines from its citizens.

Kadfeen said that while facing immense hardships, people approach the health centres for jabs, and in the end, they are all turned down with no clue when to return.  He added that there were mere 800 jabs given to people in Kashmir in the last 4 days and such a scenario is pricking the balloon of good health infrastructure in the state.

Kadfeen said the shortage of vaccines and anarchy on the ground has exposed the crumbling health infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir and if a total overhaul is not done, the situation could turn more and more problematic for the already crises ridden masses.(KNS)
