Srinagar, June 21 (KNS): Delegation of Unemployed Veterinary Doctors Association (UVDA) of Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday staged demonstration here in press enclave against government for failing to provide them employment.
Scores of qualified youths assembled here and raised anti government slogans. They were demanding employment or rollback 24 posts that were advertised earlier.
The protestors told KNS that they are more than 8 thousand degree holders in veterinary sciences but the government has advertised mere 24 posts. This is clear discrimination with us.
They said that more than 1200 posts were mentioned in the record book of Department of Animal Husbandry under the title of ‘District Development Board Decision 2006-2007.’ That was refused later, demonstrators said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They accused government of step motherly treatment and said that after lot of discussion and rejection. The Planning Department agreed the creation of 420 posts, ironically that file is still pending in Finance Department.
“Government is rubbing salt to our wounds by providing only 24 posts for eight thousand degree holders, create more or retrieve 24 posts,” a protestor said.
The protestors also said that they visited Drabu’s and Sajad Lone’s office but they both failed to live upon our expectations.
Dr Ishafaq Ahmad, President UVDA said, “I appeal CM Mehbooba Mufti to create more posts as we are thousands in number and we have been waiting since long time our demand will not be fulfilled with mere 24 posts,” he said. (KNS)
