AP accords grand welcome to Syed Asgar Ali on his appointment as State General Secretary

Jammu, Nov 10 (KNS): Apni Party State General Secretary and Ex-MLC Syed Asgar Ali has suggested to utilize 2 percent of total watercess collected from the people in Chenab Valley in developmental works.

Syed Asgar Ali was speaking at a programme organised by the Apni Party to accord him a warm welcome on his appointment as State General Secretary of the Party in an impressive function at the party office in Gandhi Nagar.

Welcoming his appointment, Apni Party General Secretary, Vijay Bakaya said that the appointment of Syed Asgar Ali as General Secretary will help the party to gain from his experience in politics.

He said that his experience will be helpful in strengthening the party and in the development of Chenab Valley.

“He is a known politician in Chenab Valley having strong base and understanding of the difficulties of the districts he is representing,” he said.

Meanwhile, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra said that his appointment is a welcome step in the party which will benefit in making the party a strong force in Chenab Valley.

Malhotra said that Apni Party believes in keeping all the areas equal and provide them opportunity of development.

Speaking on the occasion, the newly appointed General Secretary of Apni Party Syed Asgar Ali said that the commitments of Apni Party with the people of J&K will be fulfilled when it comes to power.

“The Party President has committed to provide 500 MW electricity free of cost to the people and it will be fulfilled if we come to power,” he said while thanking the party leaders for his grand welcome in the party.  

Expressing concern over the poor developmental works, he said that “2 percent of the watercess which is being collected from Chenab Valley should be utilized in the local developmental works.”

He further said that the mineral wealth in Kishtwar district should be explored like sapphire, and marble as it would be beneficial for the locals in employment generation and developmental aspects.

He said that the majority of the area is unexplored and virgin which needs Govt’s attention with regard to its development on the tourism map.

“Tourist destinations should be boosted,” he said and added that the potential for religious tourism like Machail Yatra, Sarthal Devi Yatra, and famous shrines of Shah Fareedu Din Baghdadi and Shah Asraru Din Baghdadi in Kishtwar can become a huge destination for tourists from all over the India. 

He expressed concern over the increasing road accidents in Chenab Valley which is occurring mainly due to over-loading of mini-buses.

He said that the passenger vehicles have prescribed strength of frying passengers yet many vehicle operators violate rules and it becomes the main cause of the road as they are not able to negotiate the sharp turns on the mountainous roads.

He said that “Even as various projects are in districts of Chenab Valley, local youth are not being accommodated with regard to employment in such projects which has become a serious cause of concern for the people.”

“The development is also not taking place in various areas as per the prescribed share. Even as power grids, the required developmental share should be given to the locals,” he said.

He said that the locals must be given share in projects and developmental aspects of these projects be implemented.

Besides, Provincial President Jammu, Manjit Singh also welcomed the appointment of Syed Asgar Ali as General Secretary.

He said that he is one of the senior politicians and therefore, his appointment on the post will benefit the Jammu region especially on the strengthening of the party.

He said that the party is looking forward to strengthening its base in various districts after receiving an overwhelming response from Kishtwar District under the leadership of Syed Asgar Ali.

Meanwhile, Provincial President Women Wing Jammu Namrta Sharma also welcomed the appointment of Syed Asgar Ali as State General Secretary.

Namrta said that the party has gained support in various districts and hoped that the leadership quality of Asgar sb will help the party to grow in strength and emerge as one of the strongest political voices of the people.
