Usman Majid Visits Cloud Burst Affected Areas Of Bandipora Area. Seeks Compensation For The Affected.

Srinagar August 05 (KNS): Former Minister & Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Vice President Usman Majid today visited the cloud-burst hit areas of Bandipora which includes Halmatpora,  Chechinaar, Sheikh-Muqam Dangernaar, Chuntawari,  Ketson, Aloosa, Ashtingoo and other areas to have an on-the-spot feel of damages caused to residential houses, agricultural land, Masjids and infrastructure.

Majid expressed serious concern over the damages of property,two local Masjids,  agricultural land of people of these areas whose fields, houses and property got damaged due to cloud burust that struck before few days in the area.

He said that the sufferers should be provided interim relief and restoration works on war-footing basis to ensure unhindered mobility of the people”, Majid urged the Government and assured the people of these areas that all concerned agencies would be approached and mobilized to take up their problems.

He expressed solidarity with the sufferers and hoped that the administration will take immediate measures to end the miseries of the people. “I have already taken up the issue with administration, and the other concerned agencies and we hope earnest action to follow, keeping in view the extent of damages”, he added.

The residents of the affected areas gave a vivid account of damages to the Former Minister, who said that the administration has been approached for redressal of the problems.

He also urged the administration to depute teams from the concerned departments for survey of damages so that necessary improvement works are taken up earnestly besides compensation given to those whose houses have been damaged due to the cloud-burst.

Majid further demanded that the affected farmers and horticulturalists should be compensated on MSP rates. He further impressed upon the concerned authorities to carry out the required restoration works in the affected areas in double shifts. He also sought distribution of increased quota of ration to affected people at all local PDS stores at all affected places.(KNS)
