Arrangements for ensuing annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (RA) Pakherpora commencing from August 16 to September 04, 2015 were finalized in a meeting convened here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Mr. Mir Altaf Ahmad.
The meeting was attended by Chairman and members of Auqaf Committee of Astan e Aalia besides all other concerned officers and agencies.
Briefing the meeting about the decision taken with regard to arrangements, the District Development Commissioner said CA&PD Department has been directed to ensure sufficient supply of ration including gas, kerosene and Sugar which shall remain available for the consumers during Urs days. Simultaneously the PDD has been asked to provide round the clock power supply to the town during Urs days and in case of any urgency the gensets shall be kept available.
The District Development Commissioner directed the ARTO Budgam/Pulwama to provide hassle free transport facility to the visiting devotees. He was also directed to keep sufficient passenger transport vehicles including SRTC buses available from the prime spots/Addas where huge gathering of devotees are expected to assemble for boarding during these days.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe was further directed that for the convenience of devotees they shall keep close liaison with Police department to ensure decongestion of traffic.
The District Development Commissioner said in order to check illegal profiteering, hoarding and black marketing in the markets during Urs days, a special squad headed by concerned Tehsildar will keep close watch and make surprise checks of the markets during these days.
Accordingly, PHE Department has been directed that apart from providing uninterrupted water supply, mobile tankers must be kept ready to avoid any exigency in addition the department was also asked to install 3 no (1000 litre capacity) tanks at the Shrine. Similarly R&B Department has been directed to make repairments of the roads approaching to the shrine if required so that smooth passage of vehicles as well as pedestrians could be ensured.
To ensure clean atmosphere during Urs days, the District Development Commissioner impressed upon the officers/officials of concerned Municipalities to keep premises /surroundings clean and garbage free, additional dust bins shall be installed to absorb the over burden garbage during these days.
