Unscheduled power cuts irks Mawer residents

Srinagar, April 01 (KNS): The residents of several villages of Mawer in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday complained about the interrupted power supply in the area despite paying regular electricity bills.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), residents of Audoora, Qalamabad, Drugsoo, Nowgam, Lawoosa, Sheakhpora, Shahrama, Shartgund Payeen, Hangha, Batagund Mawer, Haril, Minabal and adjoining areas complained they are not getting the power supply as per the schedule.

The resident alleged that the employees at Grid Station Audoora Qalamabad are deliberately made people to suffer and are resorting to interrupted power supply to the area.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Qalamabad, told KNS that they are paying electricity fee regularly but not getting the power supply as per schedule. "During 24 hours, areas are getting only 2-3 hour power supply which has made life of people hell.

Farooq Ahmad Mir, another resident said that continous power cuts have taken heavy toll over the studies of their children.

The residents said the PDD should cancel their load agreements as department has failed to provide the electricity to the residents as per the schedule.

However when KNS tried to contact Assitant Executive Engineer (AEE) Yasir Kakroo, his phone came continously switched off. (KNS)
