Anantnag, Jan 06 (KNS): Accusing the higher authorities for ignoring their plights, the residents of Mattan, Nambal, Bijbehara, Aakoora and Pahalgam area of district Anantnag here have demanded complete redressal of their grievance.
The residents of said areas while talking to KNS said that the Power Development Department (PDD) is subjecting them to unscheduled power cuts in the harsh winter
Locals said that with the unscheduled power cuts in the area, the people are being forced to take to streets. “We are continuously pleading before the higher ups in this regard while the authorities assured us to redress their grievance but the promises done by the authorities proved hoax,” he said.
The residents further told KNS that a meeting was held at Dak Bangla at Anantnag by District Development Board (DDB) chairman in this regard wherein he has directed the PDD officials to redress the genuine grievances of people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Despite holding meeting with officials, our appeals fallen into deaf ears,” he said.
They further told KNS that if the unnecessary power cuts won’t end, we will block the national highway to protest against the department. “The authorities present in the department hardly pay heed over the issue and leaves residents to suffer at large,” he said.
According to the residents, due to the overload on grid station Kehribal Mattan, the inhabitants are facing tremendous hardships. “Until the problem of grid station will not be redressed, the problem of unscheduled power cuts won’t end,” they said.
Meanwhile, unscheduled power cuts have irked the several areas of Langate constituency and have demanded redressal of their grievance. (KNS)
