New Delhi, Dec 29 (KNS): Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel on Wednesday appreciated the efforts put in by the Sports Council with regard of developing sports culture and taping young talent under Khelo India Scheme that was launched on 27 December 2016.
Goel in one of his tweet under his twitter handle tweeted “Selection at Anantnag Stadium under Khelo India initiative @India sports. Glad to see youngsters for participating in large numbers in Kashmir."
He also pended two photographs of players in action in J&K.
It is pertinent to mention here that the scheme is being organized under the direct supervision and patronage of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Sports Minister Molvi Imran Ansari of the State. The scheme is covering all districts of the state, where competitions in different sports disciplines shall be organized with prize money from block level to state level.
Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Molvi Imran Ansari said that such initiatives will boost the morale of the youth of the state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe further added, "we are desperate to see our young ones from the state to bring more laurels for the state Jammu and Kashmir." said Ansari
While welcoming the appreciation, Secretary Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra said, “We are thankful to our Chief Minister (President Sports Council), Minister for Youth affairs and Sports and Union Ministry for Youth affairs and Sports Vijay Goel for their unstinted support for promotion of sports in the state.”
He further added, “there is lot of work that needs to be done in this direction and we are hopeful that same will be possible by the concerted efforts of all stake holders especially the talented young players of the state. The sports council under dynamic leadership of Chief Minister and Sports Minister is committed to be facilitator and be a support system for different games that are played in the state,” added Secretary Sports Council.
