Baramulla, April 25 (KNS): As part of Union Governments special outreach Programme to get first hand appraisal of various developmental indicators and parameters identified under Aspirational District Programme,  Union Minister of State (IC) Ministry of Science and Technology; Minister of State (IC) Ministry of Earth Science; Mos of Prime Minister's office and Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy; and Department of Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today visited Baramulla where he  chaired a meeting of the concerned officers in Dak Bungalow here and took sector wise review of various schemes and programmes being carried out in the district.
 
It is worth to mention here that Union Ministers  have been asked to visit in some of India’s 118 aspirational Districts and have been asked to travel to border areas and give an “on-the-ground assessment’’ of government schemes to their respective ministries.
 
At the outset, District Development Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar presented a detailed account of progress Cum performance recorded in various sectors through Power Point Presentation especially in the Aspirational District Programme. 
 
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla apprised the minister about the initiative and the platform provided by NITI Aayog which identified the critical gaps and ensured the multi-stage monitoring besides, raising the stakes of the filed functionaries from front line worker to Deputy Commissioner in achieving the targets.
 
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla highlighted the achievements made in sectors like Agriculture and Water Resources, Health and Nutrition, Skill Development and Financial Inclusion and Basic Infrastructure. The systematic governance systems, better coordination, excellent convergence of funds and functionaries created an environment for better result oriented implementation of the schemes yielding desired outcomes which is reflective of the change in the lives of the common masses, Bhupinder Kumar added.
 
After taking a comprehensive review, the Union Minister appreciated the efforts and tremendous progress made by district administration Baramulla in Aspirational District Programme. 
 
While speaking on the occasion Union Minister said that Central Government aims to assess the various constraints of Aspirational Districts to work upon them for better implementation of the programme.
 
The minister also directed the concerned officers to work with added Zeal and cohesion in order to be amongst the top ranks of the country in Aspirational District Programme.
 
Meanwhile various issues hampering the path of overall progress  were thoroughly discussed in the meeting which the minster assured that all the impediments shall be taken into consideration for their timely redressel so as to achieve the level of saturation in the indicators. 
 
Moreover, areas such as PM Fasal Bima Yojana, electronic National Agriculture Market, Bharat Net facility in each Panchayat, financial inclusion, etc requiring focus shall be addressed soon, said the Minister.
 
Later, the minister visited  Government Medical College Baramulla and intracted with the medicos on various issues of healthcare challenges prevailing in this part of the country 
 
On the occasion, Principal GMC Baramulla appraised the union minister of the achievements of the Government Medical College Baramulla and about the various initiatives that needed to be taken to make GMC Baramulla more effective in patient care.
 
The Minister was informed that GMC Baramulla conducts highly sophisticated spine and other surgeries in order to provide better health care services. 
 
Meanwhile, several demands with regard to upgradation of GMC Baramulla were put forth with the minister during which the minister asserted that the present dispensation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen to provide efficient and effective healthcare facilities to the people of J&K. The upgradation of the existing healthcare system of GMC Baramulla is part of the commitment with the people.(KNS)
