Srinagar, Oct 19 (KNS): One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in Melhura area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, police has said.
Police official told KNS that one unidentified militant has been killed during the ongoing encounter.
Earlier an encounter broke out between militants and government forces in Melhura village of Shopian after specific inputs.
“The hiding militants were given option to surrender however they refused and fired continuously upon joint forces”, police official said.
He added two to three militants are believed to be trapped inside the cordon. (KNS)
