Unfortunate, inappropriate decision by TMC to abstain from Vice-Presidential Polls: Tarigami

Srinagar, July 22 (KNS): After Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) decided to abstain from voting in the Vice-Presidential elections, senior CPI(M) leader and PAGD spokesperson, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said that this kind of decision is totally inappropriate on small matters and termed it as wrong and unfortunate decision.

While speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Tarigami said that at that time, when there was a growing feeling among the opposition parties that there should be unity so that the arbitrariness of the BJP government can be stopped, this kind of decision by TMC on some small things is not only inappropriate but also stupid.

He said that inevitably, the consequences of this decision will be very bad in the future because it is unfortunate and very inappropriate.

Notably, Trinamool Congress MP and general secretary Abhishek Banerjee had said that the party will abstain from taking part in the Vice-Presidential election that is scheduled to take place on August 6. (KNS)
