Srinagar, May 22 (KNS): Peoples Conference Chief Sajad Gani Lone today came in support of Asha workers and asked the Government to understand the value of these grass root level workers and don’t see them as a burden.

Taking to microblogging site Twitter, Lone wrote, "Spare a thought for Asha workers and Anganwari workers. They are key to winning the covid war. From checking oxygen levels in a village to using rapid tests. They could arrest the spread covid at the village level. The employment status of these workers is under perpetual threat."
He added, "The employment status of these workers has always been under threat.They r taunted to be on a sinecure. Because they do their job silently and some Babu takes credit. Hope governments understand the value of these grass root level workers and don’t  c them as a burden."(KNS)
