Uncovered manholes, dilapidated road concerns Sopore’s Bagh-e-Gulshan residents

Sopore, Mar 28 (KNS): Residents of Bagh-e-Gulshan area of Sopore town in Baramulla district have expressed concern over uncovered manholes and dilapidated road condition and stated they the concerned authorities hardly bother. 
 
Residents told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that uncovered manholes and drains are posing a serious threat to pedestrians, including school going children. 
 
"Collapsing of drain bears witness to the bad quality work and material used in its construction. The manholes in the area have been closed by placing stones around them and dozens of manholes are covered with cardboard boxes,” they alleged.
 
They said that the concerned authorities concerned have failed to repair the faulty drainage system in their area. 
 
“The road is also in a dilapidated conditions as half of the stretch from Chankhan to Bagh-e-Gulshan has not been repaired since long,” said president Auqaf Committee, Abdul Rashid Teli. 
 
He said that they also approached to the concerned authorities several times in the past but no steps were taken to redress their demands. 
 
Meanwhile, residents appealed to district administration and concerned authorities to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievance. (KNS)
