Srinagar, Jan 31 (KNS): The incarcerated Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sunday said the silence of United Nations and world leadership encourages Indian occupational forces to continue its grave human rights violations in Jammu Kashmir.
In a statement to KNS, Shah while terming the resolution of Kashmir issue as vital for world peace, said, "On one hand, Kashmiri people continue to offer immense sacrifices for the freedom from India and on other side, the silence of UN and world leadership over the issue and situation in Kashmir boosts and encourages the occupational forces to continue the human rights violations in the state."
"It's extremely unfortunate that world leadership and UN are claiming to resolve the ongoing conflicts across the world but are ignoring the situation in Jammu Kashmir. Such silence reveals the dubious nature of the world body and leadership. It also is a contempt on this world institution. Until the weaker nations are not given the right to self determination, to find the world peace is impossible."
Shah said UN cannot get away from its responsibilities towards Kashmir issue and has to resolve it played it's role vis-à-vis nations like East Timur and South Sudan.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"We reiterate that if Kashmir issue is prolonged further, it will prove detrimental to peace in South Asia."
Shabir Ahmad Shah paid tributes to Wamiq Farooq and martyrs of 2010 on their 6th anniversary, saying, "We can never forget them."
"The 2010 martyrs are the assets and heroes of our freedom movement. We continue to feel the pain over the loss of those young ones and can very well understand the plight of their families. It is very shameful that the culprits, instead of getting tried in the court of justice, were awarded promotions. That was the murder of law and justice."
On Shah's directions, a delegation led by DFP's Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, visited the family of Wamiq Farooq and expressed solidarity with them. The delegation also participated in the prayer meeting "Dua e Majlis" on the occasion and prayed for all the martyrs of Kashmir.
The delegation included Imtiyaz Ahmad, Muhammad Yousuf and Raja Aijaz.
Shah also paid tribute to 3 Lashkar e Toiba Mujahideen, who were martyred in gunfight with Indian forces at Dardpora, Lolab in north Kashmir. He reiterated the pledge of taking forward the mission of martyrs. (KNS)
