Srinagar 09 April (KNS): General officer commanding, 15 Corps Lieutenant General, D P Pandey  said that  two-way Strategy has been continuously in force to Curb the “cycle of violence” in central and south Kashmir.


Addressing a press conference at Police control room Srinagar, army commander said that there have been execution of every possible effort by all arms of government especially public, security forces and media to make Kashmir a better place but the cycle of violence has been witnessed at several places in central and south Kashmir to carry anti national elements in Valley.


"We have planned two way strategy to curb the violence, one to put pause on recruitment process for which we will try every possible effort to stop this and second, to stop online and social media system of recruitment, its handlers and OGWs.


The army commander also sought cooperation of public and other aspects of society to put pause on “radicalisation and recruitment process  to save youth from anti National activities.”
"We seek cooperation of public to help us so to stop Kashmir youth  who are been radicalised by  recruiters. We have seen some families who have confessed before us that their sons are not right path and requesting us to keep them away from here and if needed kindly put them in jail for some time,” he added.


He also said that the Shopian encounter witnessed a sensitive time for security forces when millitants took shelter in mosque and the operation was delayed to follow needful precautions.
"All SOPs were followed in letter and spirit which should be followed in a religious place. Being encounter at religious place, it took some more time and six security personnel got injuries also who are stable now,” he added.


The Lt General also said that security forces are continuously making efforts to ensure peace in valley ahead of Amarnath Yatra Pilgrimage and added that it will not be first first time that millitants will try to disturb it,  but all steps have been taken to ensure peaceful amarnath yatra pilgrimage.(KNS)
