Two soldiers killed, two injured in fratricidal firing in Poonch

Jammu, July 15 (KNS): Two soldiers were killed and two others injured on Friday in a fratricidal firing in Poonch district of Jammu region, officials said here. 


The officials told Kashmir news service(KNS) that the incident happened inside an army camp in the Surankote area of Poonch district. 

There was clash between soldiers of 156 Territorial Army during which one solider died on the spot while injuries to three other, they said. 

"Following the incident, the injured were evacuated to army base hospital Udhampur where another soldier succumbed to the injuries," the officials aaded. 

The officials identified the slain soldiers as Sepoy Ibrar Ahmed and Naik Imtiaz Ahmed while injured have been identified as Makan Singh, Naik Khalil Ahmed and Naik Imtiaz Ahmed. 

Meanwhile, a police official said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of laws and have started investigation.(KNS).
