Srinagar, Sep 15 (KNS) : Two prominent Kashmiri clerics and five banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) activists were booked by Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday and have been shifted to Jammu jail, police said here.
The Kashmir News Service (KNS) has learnt that the clerics who have been booked under public safety act (PSA) include Moulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi, Moulana Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri.
Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar confirmed to KNS said that two religious persons( Molvi)and five Jammat-e-islami activists arrested under PSA.
Notably, the PSA allows detention without charge or trial for up to two years in some cases.(KNS)
