Two more dies of Covid-19 in Valley, toll 45

Srinagar, June 08, (KNS): Two elderly men from north Kashmir’s Handwara town and south Kashmir’s Pampore town died of Covid-19 infection on Monday, reaching the over death toll across J&K to 45.
Sources told KNS that an elderly man from Handwara town of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district died in Chest Disease (CD) hospital in Srinagar after his Covid-19 sample tested positive.
According to hospital sources the deceased was admitted on May 28 and was suffering from multiple ailments.
Head of Department CD Hospital Dr Salim Tak confirmed the death of elderly man and stated that he died of co-morbidities. “He was 65-year old suffering from multiple ailments. After being tested positive for Covid-19 virus, he had been admitted in the hospital” he said.
Meanwhile another 55-year old man from Pampore Township of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district breathed his last in SMHS hospital.
“The deceased was admitted in the hospital on June 6 and was suffering from Pneumonia”, hospital sources told KNS.
With these fresh fatalities, the death toll in J&K has reached to 45 including two non-locals – a tailor and a CRPF trooper.
Earlier in a day a CRPF man deputed in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district died in SKIMS after his swab samples reported positive. Later on another young man from Srinagar district, who had earlier met with an accident and was admitted in SMHS hospital, breathed his last after his samples turned out to be positive. (KNS)
