Srinagar, June 15 (KNS): Two militants of LeT outfit were killed in an encounter that broke out in Kanjiular village of Shopian district late last night, police said here.
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that encounter broke out in the village late last night.
He said that in the ensuing encounter two militants were killed, while incriminating material, arms and ammunition were also recovered.
Meanwhile, quoting IGP on its official Twitter handle Kashmir Zone Police said that one of the killed militants has been identified as Jan Mohd Lone of Shopian.
He said that besides other crimes, he was involved in recent killing of Vijay Kumar, Bank manager on June 02 in Kulgam district.
Another militant was identified as Tufail Ganai. “Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 AK 47 rifle and a pistol was recovered from the site of encounter,” police said. (KNS)
