Two Militants killed, Civilian injured in Sopore encounter: ADGP Kashmir

Sopore, Aug 31 (KNS) : Two militants have been killed and a civilian was injured in an ongoing encounter in Bomai area of North Kashmir's Sopore in Baramulla district late Wednesday evening.

A Senior Police Official told the news agency - Kashmir News Service (KNS), that two militants whose identification is being ascertained have been killed and a civillian has also been injured in Bomai area of Sopore in Baramulla district so far in the encounter. 

The official identified civilian as Ali Mohammed Ganaie son of Abdul Ahad Ganaie of Bomai. 

Meanwhile ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar confirmed the killing of 2 JeM militants in the encounter.
He also said civilian who had received injury during the encounter has been shifted to Srinagar hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.

Earlier officials told KNS, that a joint team of Army's 22 RR, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police laid a cordon and search operation in Bomai village of Sopore after receiving credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering off an encounter, they said.(KNS)
