Two Drug Peddlers Held with Brown Sugar-like Substance in Tangmarg
Tangmarg, Mar 09 (KNS): Police in Tangmarg apprehended two alleged drug peddlers during a naka checking and recovered a brown sugar-like substance from their possession, officials said on Monday.
According to police, a naka party of Jammu and Kashmir Police from Police Station Tangmarg was conducting routine checking at Chanpora Crossing near the Forest Range Office in Tangmarg when they intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK09-7104 coming from Chanpora towards Tangmarg.
The accused have been identified as Zahid Ahmad Mir, son of Gh. Hassan Mir, a resident of Checkthan Chanpora, Tangmarg, aged about 29 years, and Mohd. Yaseen Magray, son of Mohd. Ramzan, a resident of Sonlipora, Tangmarg, aged about 24 years.
Police said that a case FIR No. 07/2026 under sections 8/21-29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and further investigation has been taken up.
Police reiterated that it remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs and will continue strict action against those involved in drug trafficking. (KNS)
