Two Drug Peddlers Arrested, Narcotics Seized In Handwara, Say Police

Handwara, Dec 03 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday said that it arrested two drug Peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession.


The police in a statement said that continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested two peddlers and recovered narcotics in Qalamabad area. On Saturday, the police said that  a police party of Police Station Qalamabad while on naka duty at Qalamabad, stopped a Santro vehicle bearing registration No.JK02A/4693 for checking. 

"On search, around 01 kg and 50 gms  of Charas like substance were recovered from possession of two persons aboard the vehicle. The persons have been identified as Sameer Ahmad Bhat son of  Manzoor Ahmad and Maisar Ghulam son of  Ghulam Mohd Bhat both residents of Village Reshipora, Tehsil Awantipora," the police added.

"Based on this, FIR No. 76/2022 U/s 8/20, 29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Qalamabad and investigation has been initiated," it said, adding that the accused have been arrested and the vehicle involved in the offence has also been seized.(KNS)
