Two cops injured in grenade attack near post office Washbug in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): Two policemen were injured after militants hurled a grenade towards a joint team of police and CRPF near post office in Washbug area of Pulwama district on Sunday, police said here. 

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), militants hurled grenade towards security forces near post office at around 3 pm, resulting in injuries to two cops.

The statement reads that the cops received splinter injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for the treatment. 

It reads that police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. 

“Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of the incident, while area has been cordoned and search in the area is going on,” it reads. (KNS)
