Srinagar, July 18 (KNS): Two more youth were killed Monday evening in forces firing in southern Qazigund in Anantnag district, taking the death toll in the ongoing unrest to 46.
Four persons were injured when army opened fire at protesters at Churhat Qazigund in on late Monday evening, police said.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani told KNS that two of the injured, including a woman, succumbed to the injuries.
The IGP said that the protesters in Churhat village had blocked a bridge and did not allow two army vehicles to travel on it when they were on way to their camp.
“Army personnel tried to remove the blockade on the bridge and move ahead to their camp. But the protesters did not allow them and clashed with them. In the clashes, two persons, including a woman, were killed in the firing by army,” the IGP told KNS.

Earlier in the day today, clashes took places in Hajin in Bandipora, Gogloosa Payeen in Kupwara, Kondbal, Mansbal in Ganderbal, Batamaloo in Srinagar and Khrew in Awantipora, police said.
“A few persons and police/CRPF men were injured in these incidents. A Base camp store of potato seed belonging to Agriculture Department was set on fire in Wouhlutra, Rafiaabad by miscreants,” police said in a statement this evening.
Kashmir has been on boil following the killing of Hizb Commander Burhan Wani in an encounter on July 8 evening in Bumdoora village in Kokernag in Anantnag district.
46 civilians have been killed and more than 2000 civilians, nearly 200 security forces personnel injured in the clashes in the last 10 days that have erupted between forces and civilians after the encounter. (KNS)
