Sopore, Sep 03 (KNS) : Sopore police claim to have arrested two persons and recovered 15 kg poppy straw from their possession. The arrested have been identified as Barkat Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Ahad Dar and Aqib Ahmad Kuloo son of Nazir Ahmad Kuloo, both the residents of Sher Colony (B) in Sopore.
Police official told the news agency - Kashmir News Service (KNS), that a police party of Police Station Amargrah headed by the SHO Imtiaz Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Furqan Qadir had established a NAKA at Amargrah crossing and a load carrier bearing registration number JK05D 2486 was intercepted.
Upon searching, the police recovered 15 kg of poppy straw from their possession and the duo were taken into the police custody, official said.
Meanwhile, a case vide FIR No. 81/2022 under sections 8/15, 29 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Tarzoo/Amargrah and further investigation has been initiated, he added.(KNS)
