Srinagar, Jun 03 (KNS): Two Army men were Saturday killed while four others sustained injured after the after militants attacked their convoy in Lower Munda area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
Officials said that said that militants opened fire on the convoy moving on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Qazigund, resulting into the injuries to six troopers. “The injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment. The two among the six injured troopers succumbed to their injuries,” officials said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that following the militant attack, the forces launched a search operation in the area to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile, soon after the attack took place, the authorities closed the Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only road connecting the Valley with rest of the country.
Officials said that the highway was closed due to security reasons.
However, the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen claimed the responsibility of the attack. (KNS)
