Bandipora, Jan 06 (KNS): Budugam and Sardaab villages of Tehsil Tulail of north Kashmir’s Bandipora are reeling under complete darkness as Power Development Department (PDD) failed to repair their generator.
Residents while talking to "Kashmir News Service" alleged that PDD is deliberately forcing to survive under dark even after the localities approached higher officials of the department. “It is unfortunate that nothing was done so far. The non-availability of electricity in the villages adds our sufferings in harsh winters”, a local told KNS.
The residents appealed PDD officials to intervene into the matter and address their demands at an earliest.
When KNS contacted SDM Gurez Dr Mudasir Ahmad, he said that the said oil pump was sent to Srinagar for repairing and has been received from there also. “Due to inclement weather and road blockade, the oil pump lies in Bandipora, and once road connectivity is restored it will be installed and electricity restored in the area”, he said.
