Srinagar, Feb 27 (KNS): A truck driver died while a conductor was injured when a vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Ummo crossing area of South Kashmir’s Qazigund on Monday, police officials said.
According to KNS correspondent, Zahoor Andrabi, a police official in the Police Station Qazigund said that a truck driver identified as Altaf Hussain Khatana, son of Muhammad Amin Khatana, resident of Rajouri died while a conductor identified as Muhammad Fayaz Cheechi, son of Muhammad Lateef Cheechi, resident of Rajouri was injured after a vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge in the area.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that they were travelling in a truck under no JK06-2BQ1866 from Jammu-Srinagar.
“The injured conductor has been shifted to the District Hospital Anantnag for the treatment,” the official said.
He said that a case under FIR no 36/2017 under section 240, 279 and 304 RPC has been registered, adding that “the dead body the deceased has been handed over to his family.” (KNS)
