Trifurcation ideology behind delay of assembly elections: Javed Rana

Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNS): Amid Lok Sabha Elections in J&K state, the Central Secretary Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and former Deputy Chairman Legislative Council & Ex-MLA, Javed Ahmed Rana accused New Delhi by saying, “Trifurcation of Jammu & Kashmir State as an ugly motive behind delay of Assembly Elections”.

“The BJP and its associated cronies (like RSS) are desperate to please the people of Jammu and Ladakh by hoodwinking them with different hallow slogans and giving hype to issues like Article 370 & Article 35A. “Please bear in mind, Jammu and Kashmir was not integral part of India and Article 370 stands the main bridge between New Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. As Government of India has himself endorsed the Instrument of Accession signed by Maharaja with India (world’s largest democracy) and later on this was strengthened and got the constitutional position by adopting Article 370 & 35A,” said Javed Ahmed Rana in a statement issued to KNS.

Rana warned New Delhi for attempting to divide state on the basis of religion and sabotaging its unity & integrity for their vested geo-political interests. He further said that, “Since 1950 (Praja Parishad agitation), various forces have tried to invoke unrest and seek political gain in the state. The only difference is that now the situation is more alarming”. This government looks very desperate for power; and perplexed, aloof & incompetent for solving the core issues of the state (like militancy, development, unemployment, peace and tranquility).

“Trifurcation of state will infuse psychological divide & hostility among people of state, and its ramifications will invite administrative chaos, non-cooperation & outrageousness among people and further weaken India’s position on International Platforms”, said Rana.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelQuoting a political economist, Ashis Nandy, “Gujarat model of development has not been duplicated anywhere at all, but the Gujarat model of hatred has spread everywhere in India”. One such example is the concept of the trifurcation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Raising a serious question on foundation of India i.e. “Sarva Dharma Sambhava”, Rana said, “This trifurcation will lead communal polarization from various parts of Jammu, not only city, but also from Doda, Rajouri and Poonch. A final fracture of the state will be done for carving out a separate enclave for Kashmiri pandits that will create a dangerous precedent, leading to further isolation of an already shrinking community”.

Rana emphasized that trifurcation of state is a bad idea and will be a strategic harakiri. We should take lessons from our history of partition and regional harmony can’t be ensued through partitions but through early and free polls to restore the democratic set up again to open gateways for education and Job opportunities, unilateral development in all the divisions of the state.

The boundaries of the State of Jammu Kashmir unlike other states are indestructible. The Constitution of India guarantees territorial integrity to the State of Jammu Kashmir and neither the Prime Minister, nor the Parliament of India can unilaterally redraw the borders of the state or declare it as one or three Union territories without taking the consent of the State. This would be a more sensible and permanent solution than trampling the entire land along with its population through wild elephants. (KNS)
