Tricolour Hoisted at 11,700 Feet as BSF, Chinar Uphar Foundation and Locals Celebrate Independence Day

Srinagar, August 15 (KNS): The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Razdan Top in north Kashmir, where the Tricolour was hoisted at an altitude of nearly 11,700 feet.

The celebration brought together personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), members of the Chinar Uphar Foundation and local residents, who gathered to mark the occasion and reaffirm their commitment to national unity, peace and service.

The programme was attended by Company Commander Naresh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Govind Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rupali Rajak and Assistant Sub-Inspector Arun Taid, along with other personnel of the 62nd Battalion, BSF, Northern Frontier.

The Chinar Uphar Foundation was represented by its President, Altaf Bhat, and Vice President, Advocate Saika Rashid.

The Tricolour was hoisted against the scenic backdrop of the high Himalayas, creating a strong symbol of national pride and unity. The participation of civilians alongside BSF personnel highlighted the close bond between the people and the security forces guarding the nation's borders.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinar Uphar Foundation President Altaf Bhat expressed gratitude and respect for the BSF personnel for their dedication and service under challenging conditions.

Vice President Saika Rashid also paid tribute to the BSF personnel and stressed the importance of strengthening the bond between citizens and the forces serving the country.

The celebration also highlighted the difficult conditions faced by security personnel deployed in the high-altitude region. Razdan Top, located on the route connecting the Kashmir Valley with Gurez, experiences harsh weather and challenging terrain, making the area particularly demanding for those serving there.

The gathering conveyed a message of national integration, peace, mutual respect and responsible citizenship, with civilians and security personnel coming together in the spirit of “Nation First.”

The programme concluded with renewed respect for the Tricolour and appreciation for the courage and dedication of the BSF personnel.
