Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNS): Valley based fruit growers and dealers on Thursday said that they are paying high prices than fixed rates for the transportation of different Kashmiri fruits to other parts of country.
In a statement issued to KNS, Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers cum Dealers Union have appealed the authorities to redress their genuine grievance so that they will not face any losses.
“The rates that were fixed for transportation of fruits to other parts of valley are not in force instead we have to pay double the money. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag in its meeting that was held in 2015 with various transport Association and other representatives of different organizations fixed the rate from Srinagar to Jammu as Rs.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel40/ per apple box, Rs.60/- to Punjab and Rs.80/- to Delhi. In this season for Delhi 110-120 rupees is being charged and similarly for other stations too” said the handout.
“However, SSP Anantnag has assured that closing hours for Jawahar tunnel will be extended so that no fruit truck will remain stranded.”
While appealing to concerning authorities they said that fruit trucks playing on Srinagar Jammu national highway should be allowed to operate during day and night. (KNS)
