Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNS): Terming transparency and accountability as ‘the benchmark of the present coalition government’, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali Wednesday said that there is no space for corrupt practices and persons in the present government and positive change is visible on ground as a result of various historical initiatives taken by the government.
According to KNS correspondent, Umar Malik, the Minister stated this while addressing a joint meeting of prominent citizens and district officers at Kalakote Rajouri.
Citing the example of the recruitment of the special police officials in the police department, the Minister said that due benefit will be given to every citizen of the state according to his own merit.
He said that various initiatives have been taken by the government to bring transparency and accountability in the functioning of all the departments.
He added that ration cards are being linked to Aadhaar and department is working to complete digitization process expeditiously to curb black marketing and to ensure fair, streamlined and transparent Public Distribution System in the state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Minister further added that process of installation of fingerprint based machines at all food stores is also going on which after completion will definitely reduce the pilferage to zero level.
Terming inclusive growth and development of state as the priority of the government the minister said that developing each and every corner of the state is the aim of government. “The government is committed to create such an environment where every citizen should get his due right irrespective of his religion, region or political alliance”, he said.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of various developmental works for timely completion of these projects.
District Development Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Senior superintendent of Police Suleman Choudhary,ADDC Avtar singh Chib, PO IWMP/District Panchayat Officer Shafiq Ahmed , Assistant Commissioner Development Noor Alam, Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Rajouri Javed Iqbal , DSWO Dr.Abdul Khabir besides others district and sectoral were also present in the meeting.
