Qazigund, May 1 (KNS): Train services were suspended on Thursday after a truck veered off the road and landed on the railway track in the Qazigund area of South Kashmir.
According to reports, a truck bearing registration number JK02AT-5895 rolled down the cutting at kilometre 167/10-11 between Banihal and Qazigund (Hiller), blocking the railway line.
Following the incident, train operations were halted early in the morning, and efforts to clear the track commenced immediately.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOfficials deployed heavy machinery to the site, but due to the truck’s substantial weight, removal proved challenging.
An official confirmed that the Army has been called in to assist with the clearance operation. "Despite deploying machinery, the truck could not be removed, so we sought the Army’s help to expedite the process," the official said.
Train services will remain suspended until the truck is successfully removed from the tracks. (KNS)
