Traffic Police Tighten Noose on School Transport Violations in Bandipora

Bandipora, May 2 (KNS) : In a major enforcement drive aimed at ensuring student safety, the Traffic Police in Rural Bandipora conducted an extensive check of school buses and other vehicles today, imposing fines amounting to ?18,400 through cash challans.
 
During the drive, a total of 15 vehicles were challaned for various violations, while one vehicle was seized for non-compliance with legal requirements.
 
Speaking on the occasion, SO Traffic Rural Bandipora, SI Farooq Ahmad, stated that the department is prioritising strict monitoring of school transport. He revealed that several school buses were found operating without proper documentation.
 
“We have already informed school authorities to ban vehicles that lack valid documents strictly.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIt has also been observed that some schools deliberately keep such vehicles off the roads during checking drives to avoid action,” he said.
 
He further added that many schools are using private vehicles for transporting students, which is a serious violation. “In the coming days, we will intensify the drive and seize all such unauthorized vehicles,” he warned.
 
Reiterating the department’s commitment, SI Farooq Ahmad emphasized that the safety of students remains the top priority, and strict action will continue against any violations. (KNS)
