Srinagar, June 30 (KNS): In a significant development, the SSP Traffic Srinagar Maqsood-Ul-Zaman today called a meeting with traders of the City center areas seeking their suggestions with regard to traffic regulation during for the Eid shopping.
In a statement issued to KNS, KTMF said that a delegation of trader fraternity including representatives from Hari Singh High Street, Lal Chowk, Regal Chowk, Lambert Lane, Residency road & bund business man association and Polo view, held threadbare discussions with the SSP.
The traders told the SSP that public transport flowing down the Residency Road be diverted to the MA Road only during peak hours and that the deployment of traffic police be increased to regulate traffic flowing in from downtown areas, as well from south city.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The traders also suggested that no pavement vending be allowed on the main roads in the city center as the space has already been provided to the street vendors.
“We want customers to enjoy a hassle free drive to iconic city center for shopping,” the traders said.
Meanwhile the traders hailed the SSP for having taken them into confidence before deciding over traffic regulation for Eid shopping. “We hope our suggestions will be considered,” the traders said. (KNS)
