Bandipora, Oct 3 (KNS) : In a strict enforcement action against traffic violations, the Traffic Police on the Bandipora–Sumbal road conducted a major crackdown, challaning hundreds of vehicles and seizing several on the spot.

The operation was led by DySP Traffic Ganderbal/Bandipora, Gulzar Ahmad, in coordination with the District Traffic Inspectorate (DTI).

Speaking about the campaign, DySP Ahmad said that such drives would continue in the coming days to maintain road discipline and ensure the safety of commuters.

Officials said the crackdown was prompted by repeated complaints from residents of the Nusoo area, where truck drivers often park vehicles along the main road, causing traffic congestion and obstructing smooth flow.

“We have taken note of the issue. The stretch will be cleared in the coming days to ensure smooth movement,” DySP Gulzar Ahmad added.

The intensified operation is part of the police’s broader initiative to regulate traffic, discourage violations, and improve road safety across Bandipora and adjoining areas.

He urged commuters and vehicle owners to adhere strictly to traffic norms to avoid penalties.(KNS)
